Effectiveness of Backward Design Lesson Planning in Teaching and Learning Physics: A Case Study

Lesson planning through backward design was introduced in the schools one of Dzongkhags eastern Bhutan to enhance students' learning since 2017. This study undertaken find out effectiveness lesson teaching and physics. A qualitative case approach implementing semi-structured interviews, classroom observation, document analysis used. purposive sampling method used select eight physics teachers from four schools. The found that using significantly influences understanding concept promotes purposeful engagement realistic learning. As assessment is planned separately this design, it provided with an improved learning, achievement standards and, subsequently, scaffolding them achieve greater performance. other benefits include academic increased confidence teachers. Some challenges were limited evidence transferring their everyday lives; more time requirements phase; teachers' knowledge setting instructional goals; developing reliable tools essential questions. recommends conducting similar studies subject areas involving participants offer richer perspectives on design.
